What recent volunteers said about their IVHQ experience

If you’re hesitant about volunteering with IVHQ, DONT BE. My experience has changed me in ways I can’t describe, being able to support the children and teachers in Tanzania at my day care and the chance to sponsor a kid has shown me just how good it feels to give back to people.

The impact on me as a person is hard to put into words i have seen the impacts that even a single person can have on a school and community, being able to sponsor a child and know that you are giving them a better shot at education and therefore life is the most fulfilling thing.

I LOVE THE TEAM in Tanzania, they were so helpful and supportive and accommodating!

There’s really something special about knowing the effort you are putting in will help them in the long run. Although I wasn’t there for an extended period of time I have made so many connections with people all around the world and with the locals in Arusha. I will be back!!!!

Volunteering in Tanzania for a couple of months was an incredibly meaningful experience that gave me a new perspective on the world and on myself. I gained a deeper sense of empathy, cultural understanding, and confidence, and felt very connected to the local communities.

For anyone who may feel hesitant, I’d say to take the leap. IVHQ provided great support throughout the program, and the experience is both challenging and greatly rewarding. It’s something I’ll carry with me long after returning home, and I will continue to recommend it to others.

The entire process with IVHQ was absolutely incredible! From booking right through to arriving home I was support by IVHQ. I would recommend it to anyone, no matter how old you are. One of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had the pleasure of living in my life. The local team in Tanzania were so incredible, they felt like family. You were supported every step of the way and never felt alone, if you are worried about going by yourself and being alone - don't be! The volunteer accommodation was great, I made the greatest of friends, it's everything you imagine it to be and more. My advice - however long you are planning to go for, it won't be enough!

I feel like I gained a greater insight to the culture within Tanzania, I have gained confidence in myself and satisfaction in what I achieved in my time away.

The advice I would give to someone who was hesitant would be to do it! It’s an experience that will stay with me for ever.
